July 18 — artists arrive, have all competition canvases stamped and register

July 19-22 — artists paint

July 23 — Collectors Preview Party at the Academy Art Museum opens to ticketed collectors at 7pm with a preview hour for artists and spouses with voting for an Artists’ Choice Award beginning at 6pm. Awards announced at 7:45pm.

Vanishing Landscape Award, sponsored by the Bay Hundred Foundation - $2,000
Exceptional Work in Oil, sponsored by Vasari Classic Artists’ Oil Colors- $1,000
Easton’s 300th Anniversary Purchase Award - $1,000
Best Marine Award, sponsored by the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum - $1,000
Best Architectural Award, sponsored by the Historical Society of Talbot County - $1,000
Utrecht Award of Excellence, Best Use of Light - $800 worth of products
Artists' Choice Award - $500 & 1/2 page ad in Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine ($1,927 value)
Troika Award, Best Painting by a Maryland Artist - $500
South Street Art Gallery Award, Best New Artist to Plein Air-Easton! - $500
Vasari Classic Artists’ Oil Colors Award - $500 in product

July 24-25 — Exhibit continues and sold paintings will be replaced with other work from that artist.

July 24 — Quick Draw - Any artist has the option to register and participate in a Quick Draw competition on Saturday, July 24 beginning at 10am.

Quick Draw Awards: 
1st Place - $300 & Artists Focus in American Art Collector ($3000 value) & invitation to paint in the Winners’ Paint-Out & Brunch
2nd Place - $200 & ½ page ad in South West Art & invitation to paint in the Winners’ Paint-Out & Brunch
3rd Place - $150 & invitation to paint in the Winners’ Paint-Out & Brunch
Exceptional Work in Oil, sponsored by Vasari Classic Artists’ Oil Colors - $500 worth of product
HonorableMention - $100
Honorable Mention - $100
Honorable Mention - $100
(Product prizes will be added to the Quick Draw awards as they are confirmed.)

July 25 — Winners' Paint-Out & Brunch - Artists who win awards (including quick draw) are asked to participate in the paint-out and live auction at a lovely private waterfront estate, during the Brunch on Sunday morning. All competition artists are invited to attend the Brunch and Auction as the competition’s guests.

July 25 — Quick Draw: The Next Generation - open to ages 21 & under

Quick Draw: The Next Generation Awards:
First Place - $1,500 & featured on the cover of August Attraction Magazine along with editorial
Second Place - $1,000
Third Place - $100 plus a product award
Three Honorable Mention Awards - $50 each

“LOCAL COLOR” is held in conjunction with the Plein Air – Easton Arts Festival
ANNOUNCING THE NEW “LOCAL COLOR” FORMAT FOR 2010!!

**THE 6TH ANNUAL “LOCAL COLOR” ART SHOW AND SALE will feature STUDIO FINISHED PAINTINGS (your best work – artist’s choice of subject matter)
All paintings proudly presented by local artists of the Delmarva Peninsula (Delaware, Maryland and Virginia).**

AWARDS: Best in Show $500, 1st Place $300, 2nd Place $200, 3rd Place $100

“Local Color” will be juried by Stewart White of Baltimore, Md,. Grand PrizeWinner, Plein Air – Easton, 2009, and will be judged by Debra Huse of Balboa Island, California, Third Prize Winner, Plein Air – Easton, 2009.
