Local Color: Call for Entries
Working Artists Forum invites artists of the Delmarva Peninsula, and WAF members, to apply for the 16th Annual Local Color Art Show & Sale. Applications will be accepted Feb 8-March 20, 2020. This three-day event offers collectors an exceptional opportunity to view and purchase beautiful original art created in studio or en plein air by 42 working artists. The show takes place during the last weekend of Plein Air Easton, July 17-19, and is held in the Crystal Ballroom of the Tidewater Inn, located at 101 E. Dover Street, Easton, MD, in partnership with Plein Air Easton.
Local Color is juried and judged by winners of the previous year’s Plein Air Easton. This year’s judge is Aimee Erickson, Plein Air Easton’s 2019 Grand Prize winner, and the juror is Charles Newman, 2019 Plein Air Easton's second place winner. These fine artists and other Plein Air Easton participating artists will present demonstrations sponsored by The Working Artists Forum throughout the Local Color weekend at the Tidewater. Additionally, Local Color exhibiting artists will be painting outside The Tidewater Inn on Saturday and Sunday.
The entry form and image submission instructions will be available at workingartistsforum.com from February 9th through March 20. Delmarva artists wishing to apply for Local Color must complete their registration on the website by the March 20 deadline. Selected artists will be notified in early April.
Proceeds from Local Color help fund the Working Artists Forum art programs in area public schools. WAF is a juried organization of painters working in one or more mediums. The professional expertise of its membership is enhanced through programs, critiques, demonstrations, workshops, and exhibitions.
