Londonderry Manor House
Event Category:
Londonderry Manor House
The competition artists are invited to paint at the historic Londonderry Manor House.
The 1867 Londonderry Manor House is an outstanding example of the organic Gothic style. It is one of only a few residentially commissioned asymmetrical villa-style houses designed by Richard Upjohn. It is constructed with natural stone from Port Deposit granite, includes an Italian fireplace, a windmill, and an elaborate chandelier from Paris. It boats an open floor plan, lovely gardens and a beautiful waterfront setting on the Tred Avon River. The home was used as a decorator showcase in 2004 and has retained much of the splendid décor created for that lavish event. The property is currently home to many of nature’s beauties… osprey, otter, ducks, geese and many other fowl, deer and fox.
