Demo (Tilghman Island) with Plein Air Easton Alumni John Caggiano
The Tilghman Waterman's Museum presents a demo with PAE Alumni and prize-winning artist John Caggiano at Tilghman Island Inn, July 17 from 2pm-3:30pm. Participants will meet in Tickler's Restaurant within the Wylder Hotel.
Brooklyn-born artist John Caggiano studied pre-engineering at Brooklyn Technical High School and earned his BA from Brooklyn College and his MFA from Pratt Institute, both with honors. He also took courses at The Brooklyn Museum of Art and the Studio and Forum of Stage Design in New York City.
He moved to Rockport, Massachusetts in 1980, attracted by the beauty and light of Cape Ann. He paints on location in many juried plein air events across the country and around the world. His style is “Impressionistic-realism” with bright and vibrant colors that bring his subjects to life. He sometimes uses a palette knife to create more texture and contrast with his brushstrokes. “Color is the essence of my painting. It creates excitement and harmony, whether it is bold and dynamic or soft and soothing.”
John has been juried into Plein Air Easton three times and most recently won the Life on the Farm award for his painting, "A Hundred and One in the Shade".
This demo is free, however, seating is limited. Please take a moment to sign up: Sign up for John's demo.
