Native to the West coast and a graduate of California Polytechnic University in Applied Art and Design, Brenda Boylan began her creative career as a designer for high profile sportswear clients. Ten years later and desiring a more fulfilled and meaningful life, she leaped over to practice fine art and has never looked back. Inspired by the Impressionists, her color-filled pastels and oil paintings have gained national Master recognition with the Pastel Society of America, International Association of Pastel Societies, and Signature recognition with the American Impressionist Society, and the Northwest Pastel Society. She thrills on painting competitively in plein air events and has been a featured instructor at  Plein Air Conventions. Brenda’s work has been published in The Pastel Journal (cover story), Plein Air Magazine, Pratiques Des Arts (France), The Art of Plein Air Painting, and The Best of America Pastel. Brenda lives in the beautiful city of Portland, Oregon.

Brenda's work has been published in The Pastel Journal (cover story), Plein Air Magazine, Pratique des Artes (France), The Art of Plein Air Painting, and The Best of America Pastel, and has assembled a Signature product line of Jack Richeson Pastels. Because she loves nature, she practices and teaches en plein air and has been a featured instructor at several PACE and IAPS conventions. Her work has been on display in several group exhibits in nationally recognized art museums. Currently, her most satisfying accomplishment was filming an instructional pastel painting video shared through Streamline Publishing's video series
