I paint to capture the natural world as I see and experience it. I am drawn to the ethereal quality of light and atmosphere, the richness of color and the 3-dimensional properties of form. The luminously of transparent watercolor has been my medium for many years but I have now been expanding my portfolio as I explore the opacity of oils. I am primarily a landscape painter but also enjoy painting the still life and portrait.
A native of Maryland, Geraldine lives at the Head of the Chesapeake Bay in the 1855 ancestral family home. She grew up on the family farm surrounded by the natural beauty of the countryside which nurtured her love of nature and the land which is expressed in her landscape paintings today.
