Capturing Midwestern landscapes en plein air, Tom Linden is an accomplished oil painter and award-winning watercolor artist.
As a child, Tom discovered his love for drawing and painting, and he soon realized that it was his alpha skill – the one thing he could do better than the other kids. Tom pursued art as elective courses through high school and college. Years later, when he was working as a sales rep for a Chicago steel company, long drives through rural areas rekindled his passion and desire to create art. Quick gestural drawings in his sketchbooks gave him a starting point, and by the mid-‘90s his watercolor paintings were earning awards from the likes of Watercolor USA Honor Society.
In the 2000s, Tom became a full-time artist to become fully immersed in his love for oil and watercolor painting. He also became an instructor at his local community college, where he continues teaching adults to capture their own passion for painting.
Tom is represented by two galleries in Wisconsin and makes biannual appearances at ArtScene in Rockford. Tom, his wife Helen, and their canine companion, Joja O’Keefe, enjoy traveling and painting en plein air. Tom’s plein air studies in watercolor and oil provide the inspiration for his studio works.
