Register NOW for the 2026 Quick Draw Competition, a thrilling and fun event where anyone can paint or draw outdoors in downtown Easton. Participants will have two hours and six blocks to capture the beauty and charm of the town with their art. Whether you’re a professional, an amateur, or a beginner, everyone will enjoy this challenging opportunity. Witness the magic of hundreds of artworks being created right before your eyes!
HOURS: 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. (event ends with exhibition & sale)
Start with a blank or toned canvas at 9:00 a.m. Complete your painting by 11:00 a.m., and bring your completed and framed artwork to S. Harrison St. for exhibit and sale (use your own easel to display), where it will be judged by Plein Air Easton Competition Judge, Mary Morton. The top prize (which everyone who participates is eligible for) includes an invitation to compete in Plein Air Easton 2026! The awards ceremony will be around 12:30 p.m. Don’t forget to take your unsold paintings by 1:00 p.m. as there is no extended exhibit of Quick Draw artwork. The Quick Draw is fast and furious…so don’t miss it!
LOCATION BOUNDARIES: The geographic boundaries of the Quick Draw Competition are:
- West to East Boundary: S. West Street to S. Higgins Street
- North to South Boundary: Bay Street to Brookletts Avenue
QUICK FACTS:
Online Registration:
• Portal open March 5, 2026
• $10 online, open until midnight July 18
• ONLY 1 REGISTRATION PER TRANSACTION.
In-Person Registration:
• Forms will be available at Plein Air Easton Headquarters all week long, July 12-17, 40 S Harrison Street, Easton, MD
• On July 18 – Find the PAE Registration tent on Harrison St., in front of the Town Office (14 S. Harrison St.)
• July 18, Day-of registration, is $20
- We do NOT stamp Quick Draw canvas'.
- You must start with a blank or toned canvas.
- Before starting your painting, pick up a Canvas Sale Form (available at the Info/Registration/Sales tent on Harrison St., in front of the Town Office) to identify your artwork and facilitate a sale.
- You may exhibit for sale only that artwork that was created during 9am-11am, July 18, 2026
- Sales are processed through the Avalon Foundation. Artists are paid within 30 days (more often 1-2 weeks) via check in the mail. Commission is 25% Avalon, 75% Artist.
- Most importantly - HAVE FUN!!!
NOTE: It is prohibited to sell art or merchandise OTHER THAN THOSE COMPLETED DURING QUICK DRAW. Violators may be banned from future Quick Draw competitions.
