“Local Color” Art Show and Sale, by Artists of the Delmarva Peninsula, Friday July 17th through Sunday July 19th, 2015, The Tidewater Inn, Easton, Maryland
In support of the Plein Air Easton Competition and Arts Festival, the Working Artists Forum annually sponsors a juried and judged art exhibit entitled “Local Color”. The exhibit will be held concurrently with, and under the auspices of the tenth annual Plein Air Easton Competition.
ENTRIES: The “Local Color” show features Studio Finished Paintings (your best work – artist’s choice of subject matter). Paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolor or pastel are acceptable. All work must be done within the last three years. All paintings must be original and properly framed. We reserve the right to remove paintings that do not conform to the prospectus.
ELIGIBILITY: The exhibit is open to all artists residing on the Delmarva Peninsula in MD, DE or VA and any member of WAF (hosts of “Local Color”). *Participants who have been juried into the Plein Air Easton Competition are not eligible to apply.

Awards will be presented Friday at 12:00 noon, with a reception to follow.

VENUE & SCHEDULE: The venue of the exhibit is The Tidewater Inn in Easton, MD. Each artist will have an exhibit area of 6’ by 6’ (two single sided standard panels). Sold paintings may be replenished as necessary. Participating artists are to deliver and set up their paintings on Friday morning, July 17th, between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Paintings to be hung in an orderly fashion, leaving space between the frames.
*No one will hang fewer paintings than it takes to fill both of their provided standards.
The show is open to the public according to the following schedule:
- Friday, July 17 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m.
- Saturday, July 18 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Sunday, July 19 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
CONDITIONS: While all reasonable care will be taken, Working Artists Forum, and their assigns are not responsible for accidents or damage to your works or you. The participating artists accept all responsibility for borrowed equipment. The Treasurer of WAF as well as any show assistants are not responsible for any monetary losses, including bad checks or credit cards. All artists agree to remain until the advertised show hours are over. There will be no packing material on the floor until after closing time.
ENTRY FEE & COMMISSION: A non-refundable Entry Fee of $25 for WAF members and $35 for non-members must accompany your application. A 25% commission will be charged on each sale, with portions of the proceeds supporting the scholarship programs of the Working Artists Forum.
APPLICATION PROCESS:
The show will be juried by digital images.
Each applicant must enter 3 digital images for jury (fewer or more than 3 and your application will be returned unprocessed). Please send the best possible jpeg image, name your file using your initials, title of work and number: (jdlovelyview1.jpg).
Digital images may be sent by EMAIL to: workingartistsforum@gmail.com OR Digital images may be sent on CD and mailed to Barbara Zuehlke.
Payment can made online at www.workingartistsforum.com or Payment can be mailed with the APPLICATION FORM AND CHECK TO BARBARA ZUEHLKE, TREASURER OF WAF (address below).
Applications and CD’s must be received by April 29, 2015.
