Make colorful and expressive paintings from your photographs. You will explore a variety of subject matter including landscape, architecture and interiors. Shelby will guide you in selecting the most effective photographs to paint from and how to make them come to life on your canvas. Learn the technique of bright, complementary-colored acrylic under-painting, with oil or acrylic in a bold and impressionistic style. Shelby is skilled at meeting each student "where they are" and helping them find and expand their own unique voice as a painter. Daily demos and lots of personal attention will be given. Workshop held in studio and open to all levels. Shelby is a nationally recognized, award-winning impressionist painter, teacher, and performance artist. She became a full-time fine artist in 2005 and travels nation-wide painting, teaching and competing in plein air competitions. Shelby was recently featured on the cover of PleinAir Magazine for placing first in the magazine’s 2013 Salon Competition.
