Cindy Reed

As a veteran volunteer Cindy has helped to shape and mold many of the events through the years.  From helping the participating artists to feel at home during their time on the ‘shore to assembling packets, and checking in paintings, Cindy is constantly “developing and streamlining wherever possible to benefit our esteemed participants”. As is the case annually, I begin PAE 2024 with my PAE 2023 “for next year” list firmly in hand.

Looking back, Cindy said, “My wonderful swirl of memories defies description but is sharply people-oriented: the myriad personal relationships developed with artists, some hosted, some not; the deep friendships that can spring from simply repeated chance sidewalk encounters with another fresh-paint lover; the soaking-wet calamity of an unrelenting downpour during QuickDraw; our hallway lined with 26 paintings, as Roger Dale Brown selected his Competition Pieces; the excitement and anxiety during the Collectors’ Party; the worries associated with carrying some really huge ones onstage for said awards ; the fun of encouraging an accidentally late First-Timer who created another Paint Oxford Artists’ Choice winner within the final 45 minutes; and the unwarranted pride of watching our then-resident Patrick Saunders garner “Best Marine”.
