Troika Gallery

Easton, MD

Inducted into the Plein Air Easton Hall of Fame in 2025

Troika Gallery, founded by Laura Era, Dorothy Newland, and Jennifer Heyd Wharton, was Easton’s premier fine art gallery long before Plein Air Easton came to town. When developer Timothy Dills—who supported the gallery early on—asked if he should invest in a plein air festival, Laura gave a resounding yes. She encouraged the first steps, connected key players, and helped lay the groundwork for what would become the country’s leading plein air event.
In the early years, Laura and her team worked behind the scenes organizing Sunday auctions, coordinating awards, and staying up into the early hours to ensure the event’s success. Troika Gallery hosted early judges, promoted the festival to the art-loving community, and sponsored awards of its own.

Today, as sole owner, Laura continues to champion fine art while supporting the plein air community. She represents over 40 artists and maintains a deep commitment to Easton’s arts identity. Troika may not brand itself as a “plein air gallery,” but it has been an unwavering anchor for the event since day one.
