Plein Air Plus Time
Robert Barber is a plein air painter who participated in 9 PAE's. He received the Grand Prize Award, Second Place, Third Place, and other awards during his years of participation. In this talk, Robert will share his recent work, both finished and in progress, stories, and adventures of creation, as well as some of the philosophies and thoughts that help guide him along the way. Successes and failures will both be present.
Robert Barber is an avid plein air painter whose normal practice is to work outside on pieces over multiple days. His smaller pieces are completed within a few days. His larger pieces can span across more than one season, and this is the "plus time" element of this presentation. He will share what he loves about this process, how it leads both to the most fun, and the best art possible. Robert also works in his studio, and he will share some of his figurative work. It's a unique opportunity to see some pieces from his "home collection." This talk will be an application for an "excused absence" from PAE. Come and decide for yourself if it has been earned.
