Kicking off its first full episode, Jess and Tim talk with Trippe Gallery owner, Nanny Trippe. They discuss the genesis of the gallery, how artists can find gallery representation, and her recent venture into personalized art curation for homes.
Trippe has a degree in art history after attending Denison University and Richmond College in London, England. She joined the Tidewater Studios in 2009, and opened Trippe-Hilderbrandt Studios in Easton, Maryland with fellow artist Don Hilderbrandt in 2010. In November 2013, they relocated across the street and became Trippe-Hilderbrandt Gallery.
Her photo "#2 Door" won Best in Show and Best Black and White in Plein Air Easton! 2009 Photography competition and is published in Photographers Forum Best of Photography 2010. She has continued to have an image selected for publication in each successive year. She has won Best in Show at the Chestertown Arts League annual photography show and most recently won The Tidewater Camera Club Award for Photographic Excellence at the Academy Art Museum in Easton. In 2016, a solo show of her images "Trees: Majesty and Mystery" was on exhibit at the Academy Art Museum in Easton. Nanny is a many generation native of the Eastern Shore and has a genuine love for the area and capturing its uniqueness.
