Kick-Off Celebration – Downtown Raffle, Community Paint-Out, and an Evening of Art & Festivities

Join us as we launch Plein Air Easton with a vibrant, community-wide celebration in the heart of downtown! The evening features a Community Paint-Out, a giant paint-by-numbers led by PAE alumni Maggii Sarfaty—everyone is invited to pick up a brush and help bring this collaborative masterpiece to life.

Enjoy live music by Dinah Denise, an accomplished artist in her own right, as you stroll through town for a lively Gallery Walk, complete with special exhibits, artist meet-and-greets, and refreshments. Local shops will be offering special sales throughout the day—plus, earn one raffle ticket for every $25 spent at participating merchants.
Be sure to drop off your raffle tickets at the front of the Tidewater Inn before 6:40 PM to be eligible for the drawing, featuring generously donated prizes from local businesses.

At 7:30 PM, head into the theatre for a performance of Picasso at the Lapin Agile, presented by Groove/Factory—a perfect theatrical complement to an art-filled day. Written by Steve Martin, this witty and imaginative comedy places a young Pablo Picasso and Albert Einstein in a Parisian café in 1904. As the two icons-to-be debate art, science, and the future, the play unfolds with humor, charm, and surprising insight into genius and creativity.

As night falls, artists of all levels are invited to bring their paints and join the Nocturne Paint-Out, capturing the beauty of Easton after dark. Grab your paints, embrace the twilight, and join us for the PAE Nocturne Paint-Out—an open invitation to paint the town, quite literally. There are no rules, no time limits, and no set time frame—just pure, creative freedom under the night sky. Bring your own art supplies and set up anywhere along Harrison Street alongside the Tidewater Inn. Whether you arrive at sunset or drift in later, you'll be painting side-by-side with competition artists and fellow creatives in a relaxed, inspiring atmosphere. It’s the ultimate evening of art-making—no pressure, just paint.

Help us give a warm welcome to the 58 artists who will be painting throughout Talbot County all week long, and don’t miss the chance to view their work at Plein Air Easton Headquarters (with new pieces added daily) and the Academy Art Museum.
