Anette Power

2026

Anette Power is an award-winning artist who credits her Swedish childhood on an island off the coast for building her creative problem-solving skills. She has since used those to excel in several artistic mediums. After immigrating to the U.S., Power spent more than a decade working in Animation as a Background Painter, fine-tuning her sense of light, color, and mood, painting for studios like Disney, Warner Bros., Cartoon Network and Universal.

Inspired by capturing life’s colorful moments Anette wants to celebrate the world around us, painting the places and moments that speak of our place in history. "I'm drawn to color and light as an antidote to the fragility of life, and I'm intrigued by how to divide the canvas and design for a viewer's journey through a painting. She is presently exploring the space between abstraction and realism in her work using oils, acrylics and collage.

Plein Air Painting is something Anette often returns to. She finds the challenge of “taming the panic” and simplifying an often-complicated scene is one of the best ways to enjoy the outdoors and stay present in the moment. Continuously exhibiting and experimenting has brought Power several Best of Show Awards and she has recently added Graphic Design work to her artistic portfolio.  Proving that it's never too late to finish what you started, Power graduated from CSUCI with a BA in Studio Arts in 2025 after a 30 year career in the arts.  She was honored to receive an Award of Excellence for Graphic Design from CSUCI professor Luke Matjas. Anette is an artist member of the California Art Club, and the Abstract Art Collective in S.B. She teaches workshops in painting and maintains a working studio in Newbury Park, CA.
