Our 2018 Local Color Show is dedicated in loving memory of the Working Artist’s devoted and beloved artist/member, the remarkable and talented, Perry Foster.

Please join us at the Show’s Opening Reception for this three day art extravaganza, beginning this Friday, July 20th at 12:00 noon. Forty-two talented local artists have been juried into this year’s Local Color Art Show and Sale. Do you enjoy Eastern Shore landscape scenes and subjects? You will delight in the marsh scenes, workboats, water & other landscape themes with Eastern Shore “flavor”!  Artists will be exhibiting still life, floral, figural and a multitude of other themes in many styles and genres. The Crystal Ballroom will be transformed into a striking gallery, displaying over 400 original paintings.

This year's show will be judged by Plein Air Easton’s 2017 Grand Prize winner, Joe Gyurcsak. Following the Show’s opening, Joe will present a painting demo in the Dover Room (adjacent to the Show) at 1:00 PM at the Tidewater Inn. The acclaimed artist is generously donating his painting which will be available for silent auction. The painting and auction bid sheet will be located inside the Local Color Showroom. The auction begins immediately following the demo which ends at 3:00. All proceeds benefit St. Jude's Hospital, Local Color, and The Avalon Foundation.

Local Color was juried this year by the 2017 Plein Air Easton’s second place winner, Hai-Ou Hou. The Working Artists Forum extends our deepest appreciation to Hai-Ou for taking on the challenge of jurying this show. She has done an outstanding job as evidenced by the quality of work on exhibit. Hai-Ou will honor us by presenting the second of the five free painting demonstrations sponsored by The Working Artists Forum. The entire Show & Free Demo schedule is listed below.

A number of Local Color artists, painting en plein air, will be out on the streets around the Tidewater Inn. Proceeds from Local Color help to fund The Working Artists Forum's educational program for art classes in local schools.
