The Meet the Artists Paint Out and Dinner is a benefit that is reserved exclusively for Friends of Plein Air Easton. Every year, PAE highlights an exceptional estate for its Meet the Artists event and this year is no exception. This year, Friends of PAE will explore the beautiful grounds of Fox Harbor Farm, the home of Darlene and Jeff Spence. This is an opportunity to support the festival while enjoying access to one of the Eastern Shore's premier private estates for a delightful evening under the stars.
Plein Air's 58 competing artists will fan out across the estate to capture the beauty of this exceptional property. Situated on the banks of Foxhole Creek (across the Tred Avon from Oxford), Fox Harbor offers a perfect blend of agriculture, abundant wildlife, history, and of course, the waters of the Chesapeake Bay.
Fox Harbor was established in the 1700's. Among the many buildings on the property is Orem's Delight (circa 1720), which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as one of the few remaining historic buildings that retains its original scale and character. That said, Fox Harbor is full of surprises including two themed barns. One is 1950's styled, complete with a working soda fountain and car collection. The other is a western themed barn with a saloon, general store and even a jail!
The Meet the Artists Dinner is the ideal opportunity to take note of whose artwork to watch throughout the week as well as a unique buying opportunity when the day's paintings are displayed for sale. Dinner under the stars shared by competing artists and art patrons alike will mark the perfect ending to a memorable night.
Becoming a Friend of Plein Air Easton at the $500 level (or higher) is the only way to get tickets to this exclusive event. Join us for, what promises to be, the event of the summer.
