You can always go to the movies or visit a museum. Dinner out is great but you can do that anytime. Summer baseball games are fun but pretty common. There's always an interesting auction to attend. There are lots and lots of things to do and most of them are nice--but not really, really special.
However, Plein Air Easton artists descending on Cambridge happens only once a year. This year it will be July 10th and, like last year, it will be really special.
On this wonderful day, 30 or 40 world-class artists will come to Cambridge to find that unique composition that will become the perfect painting. These artists are participants in Plein Air Easton, the largest and most prestigious juried plein air competition in the US.
Here's an opportunity for you to watch these talented artists create their beautiful works in and around Cambridge. They are happy to have spectators watching them and you will find it a delightful experience.
Now here's the really, really special part. This year, YOU can participate by voting for your favorite In-Town painting. The winner of this People's Choice Award will get a handsome cash prize! So come downtown the morning of July 10th and pick your favorite.
The paintings need to be finished by noon. So plan to come early, find an artist to watch (maybe bring a folding chair), and cast your vote for your favorite. Then stay around to see the presentation of the People's Choice Award and to participate in the wet paint sale that follows.
What a fabulous day this will be--but remember, it only happens once a year!
