The deadline to apply to the Plein Air–Easton! Out of the Box Exhibition & Sale is Friday, May 24. Out of the Box will be held on Saturday, July 20 and Sunday, July 21, 2013, during the Plein Air–Easton! Competition & Arts Festival, which takes place July 15-21, 2013.
The competition artists for the 9th Annual Plein Air–Easton! Competition & Arts Festival have been announced. During this weeklong mega artfest, scores of painters descend on Easton and Talbot County, bringing with them an up-close-and-personal look at the excitement and spontaneity that surrounds art created en plein air (French for “in the open air”). The event has consistently boasted brisk art sales and Plein Air–Easton! continues to be the hottest art sale of the year in the Mid-Atlantic region and well beyond.
The deadline for submissions is fast approaching, watch as artists from around the Nation "train" in hope of landing one of the 58 coveted spots!
It may only be January, but the crew at Plein Air-Easton! cannot wait until July! Happy New Year everybody.
What is Plein Air-Easton!?
The entry jurist, who selects which artists will contend in the National Competition, is Peter Trippi. Mr. Trippi is editor of Fine Art Connoisseur, a bimonthly magazine that serves collectors of historical and contemporary representational painting, sculpture, drawings, and prints. He is also president of Projects in 19th-Century Art, Inc., the firm he established to pursue a range of research, writing, and curating opportunities.
Hosted by our guest youth host, Summer Snead, we check in with the youngest artists participating in the Festival & pop in to see a little of the Local Color exhibit as well.
