Plein Air Easton offers several events for the littlest artist in your life. Designed to instill a love of art at the earliest age and even nurture future plein air painters, most of these events are free and all of them are outdoors so bring your kids and join in the plain air fun.

Words of Advice: Paintings at Plein Air Easton move fast, so if you love a painting - BUY IT. You are welcome to make offers to purchase paintings right off easels throughout the week, anytime, though it is up to the artist to decide when it is for sale. Plein Air Easton's Collectors' Party is very popular and is, traditionally, an advance sell-out.
Words of Advice - Do not be afraid! Bring your paints, set up your easel, ask questions and make friends. We'll point you toward opportunities for anyone (not just the 58 juried artists) to paint, and every opportunity to watch and learn. Jump on in!

Artist Tony Zatzick to Give Oil and Watercolor Demonstration in the Avalon Gallery
Buddhist artists in western Afghanistan are credited with creating the first oil paintings sometime between the fifth and tenth centuries, while the roots of watercolor painting are said to extend back to the cave paintings of Paleolithic Europe. Once again, Plein Air Easton welcomes artist Tony Zatzick who will offer fun and informative demonstrations of these two influential art forms in the Avalon Theatre and just added an acrylic demo to the schedule.

Perhaps one of Plein Air Easton’s most remarkable events is its Quick Draw (this year held on Saturday, July 22). In this fast-paced skilled painting competition, any artist with $10 and ambition has 2 hours to turn a blank canvas into a completed painting and is eligible for prizes and potential sales. The event has been known to have as many as 200 artists vying for any patch of shade to produce their best work surrounded by throngs of eager art collectors. The Meet the Artists Paint Out and Dinner is a benefit that is reserved exclusively for Friends of Plein Air Easton. Every year, PAE highlights an exceptional estate for its Meet the Artists event and this year is no exception. This year, Friends of PAE will explore the beautiful grounds of Fox Harbor Farm, the home of Darlene and Jeff Spence. This is an opportunity to support the festival while enjoying access to one of the Eastern Shore's premier private estates for a delightful evening under the stars.
