Acclaimed Plein Air Artist to Teach Local High School Students in Week-Long Residency
Art not only can enhance one’s life; the process of creating it has also been known to change one’s life as well.
That’s what happened to Stephen Griffin when he discovered at an early age that his artistic aptitude helped to transform a learning disability he struggled with into a rewarding life-long passion.
This spring, as part of the Avalon Foundation’s celebration of Plein Air-Easton’s (PAE) tenth anniversary, the award-winning artist will share his passion for creating art with advanced art students in Talbot County high schools during a week-long residency.

It is with great pleasure that Plein Air Easton announces Elaine Adams as its 2015 competition jurist. Mrs. Adams will be responsible for choosing from the 100's of entries which artists get to participate in this year's Festival and Arts Competition.
Plein Air Coordinator Found - Meet Marie!
My name is Marie Nuthall and I am excited and honored to be joining the Avalon Foundation staff as the new Event Coordinator for Plein Air Easton! I’ve spent the majority of the last 14 years working with the Mason family as their catering and event coordinator for events that ranged from small gatherings to hundreds of guests. I feel that background was the perfect segue for the Plein Air experience that lies ahead.

What is Plein Air Easton?
In its 11th year, Plein Air Easton is the largest and most prestigious outdoor painting competition in the United States. The festival is the work of the non-profit Avalon Foundation. The object of Plein Air Easton is to expose the area’s vibrant arts community to a larger market. The Avalon Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life for the people living on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
